How do you check nannies before we meet them?
Every nanny passes our 6-step vetting process - Enhanced DBS, identity and right-to-work verification, two professional references, a suitability interview, and public liability insurance.
How quickly can you find a nanny?
We typically present a shortlist of vetted, available nannies within 24–48 hours of receiving your request - depending on your location and schedule.
What's the difference between Nannvo and an unverified listing site?
Unlike generic job boards, no nanny can connect with families on Nannvo without passing full background screening, reference checks, and a suitability interview.
What if I have a safeguarding concern?
Contact safeguarding@nannvo.co.uk immediately or read our Safeguarding Policy. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
What are my responsibilities as a nanny employer?
When you hire a nanny, you become their employer in the eyes of HMRC. You must register as an employer, hold employers' liability insurance where required, and agree a written contract. When you confirm a hire through Nannvo, payroll and PAYE are included in your all-in rate. Read our full employer guide for the checklist.
Can we do a trial shift before hiring?
Yes. After your shortlist and interview, you can arrange a paid trial day (or two half-days) before signing a contract. Every nanny has already passed our vetting — trials do not replace DBS or reference checks. See our trial shifts policy for payment, insurance, and probation details.
Can I use Tax-Free Childcare to pay my nanny?
Sometimes — but only if your nanny is registered as approved childcare (for example on Ofsted's Voluntary Childcare Register in England, or with the Care Inspectorate in Scotland). Tax-Free Childcare does not replace your employer duties, and Nannvo does not process TFC payments today.
